After two full days back at home, I’m finally jet lag-free.

See, I just got back from the Angels & Entrepreneurs Retreat. The research team and I spent three days straight on the clock, with barely enough time to eat or sleep. I’m talking 16 hour workdays, plus countless hours spent navigating through airports.

It was incredibly tough work… but it was also one of the most fun, rewarding, and inspiring weekends any of us have ever lived through.

If you’re not familiar with the Retreat, I’ll take a quick moment to explain. The Angels & Entrepreneurs Retreat is an annual gathering of hundreds of angel investors, startup founders, crowdfunding experts, CEOs and other visionaries from the startup world. This year was the first Retreat ever – and I’m happy to say that it was a smashing success. We already have so many ideas about how to make next year’s event even better… so stay tuned.

That’s a long way off, so in the meantime, I wanted to tell you about one of the most engaging sessions we had last weekend.

It was essentially a fireside chat between myself and Howard – the founder of an absolutely incredible startup.

I’ve known Howard for about a year, but I’ve known of him for closer to 20. I’ve always been extremely passionate about entrepreneurship… and, well, Howard is one of the greatest tech entrepreneurs of all time.

Back in the late ’70s, Howard co-founded a startup that eventually reached a valuation of 10,000 times the value it started at. That means his earliest investors could have become a millionaire for every $100 they invested.

You already know that I believe in backing the jockey, not the horse. And a founder who’s managed to steer a tiny company to a global goliath in the past is one that I’m bound to be interested in.

I already knew all that going into the weekend. But some of the things Howard said during our chat were so incredible – he had me completely sold on his new venture. I think by the end of his segment, I was nearly as excited as he was.

If you didn’t make it to the Retreat this year, that doesn’t mean you can’t still learn about some of the world-changing deal opportunities we talked about there. You absolutely can – so just click here to learn more.

I’ll be back soon with more updates.

Until next time,

Neil Patel

  1. Hello Neil,,
I just joined E*trade and want to start with $50.
Who do you reccomend I start with?
    Thank You
    Diane Foster
I’m glad the summit was so amazing!

    • Hi Diane,

I love your enthusiasm! Private equity deals (a.k.a., startups) can’t be found on E*trade, TD Ameritrade, or Robinhood. Those platforms are exclusively for publicly-traded companies. If you Google “invest in startups,” you’ll see a number of platforms that focus on equity deals – Republic, StartEngine, Wefunder, and so on.

      Best of luck!

  2. Hello Neil, I ma first time investor and do not have allot of extra money to I vest but want to get started and learn. I joined A&E after listening to your video. I was very excited and I terested and started studying up so I could dive in. I read all the information sent to me. I see I few options for investing but I see more emails offering me unbelievable opportunities if I pay 100’s to over a 1000.00’s of dollars and I get these emails continuously some the same opportunity just worded different. I was under the impression that I would be getting investment opportunities through my membership to A&E when I signed up. I see more marketing opportunities that I can join for more money than anything else. I dont feel this was what I signed up for @ A&E according to the video I watched? Can you explain please. I really want to start investing but having a hard time trusting this with all the emails I get with unbelievable oppertunities but they all come at additional costs. Costs I need to begin my investing!
Thank you for your time, I am learning but dont get the push or marketing to buy into more information I felt I would get when I joined A&E?

    • Hi Joe,

If you call our Customer Care Team (1-866-310-1498), you can request to have all marketing emails turned off. Then you should only receive what we call ‘fulfillment.’

      Hope this helps!

  3. Neil, I would like to invest but can I do it without joining the the $1450 annual membership. I’m small time only and I cannot afford the annual membership fee. I thought I could join with just a few hundred dollars. Could you please explain what should I do to make an investment without being a member of the 1450 group. Thank you.
